玉造の家　house in tamatsukuri

　築約30年、学習塾兼住宅として使われていた3階建ての建物をリノベーションし、専用住宅にしたもの。
　大きめの玄関を入ると1階にガレージ、倉庫、洗面浴室がある。ガレージには施主の趣味であるマウンテンバイクが2台、収納できる。2階はワンルームとしてリビング・ダイニング・キッチンとウォークインクロゼットを配置した。3階には寝室と子供部屋がある。子供部屋は竣工時は一つだが、将来子供が増えた時に間仕切り壁で仕切れるよう、扉を2か所につけた。
　施主はインテリアだけでなく、外観も一新したいと考えていた。そこで2・3階の外壁は樹種やサイズ、色の違う木材を横張りにして仕上げた。これはarbolの別の物件を見て気に入られた施主のリクエストによるものだ。1階部分はガレージのシャッターに合わせて玄関扉を同じ色のガリバリウムとし、統一感を出している。1階の庇と3階バルコニーの庇は同じ厚さのガルバリウムを使い、傾きや庇の出を変えることでアクセントとリズムをつけた。
　改修前の外観はALC（軽量発泡コンクリート）を使った、グレーの無個性なものだったが、改修後のイメージは一変している。自然素材と人工素材の融合ですっきりとしながらインパクトのある住宅になった。

This is a renovated three storied steel construction house, which was a private-tutoring school and a residence before, built about 30 years ago.

On the 1st floor, garage, storage, bathroom, large entrance with a space for two mountain bicycles of the client.

On the 2nd floor, living, dining room, kitchen, walk-in closet on the side of the floor.

These three rooms are set without walls on this floor, but each room is designed to be placed on its suitable area, to the effect that the entire floor looks more spacious.

On the 3rd floor, there are a bed room and a child room. One of them has two doors for partition, in consideration for future children.
The client also had a request for the exterior renovation.
As this house is located at a back street of traditional Japanese shopping street in Osaka city, the width of the road is narrow, therefore the main appearance of the exterior is in diagonal angle.
At the 1st floor part, to create a sense of unity, similar color metallic materials are used, and at the 2nd and 3rd floor parts, various kinds of woods in size and color are set laterally on the existing ALC wall panels, to have a stereoscopic effect. Eaves at 1st and 3rd floor are the same shape of galvalume material. Setting them at zigzag line, it produces a rhythmic exterior.
By harmonizing natural and artificial materials, it enables the house to look simple, brand new, and profound, in this fast-paced changing city.
